Current Wilmington Temp
64°F
It's 64° in Wilmington — mild days are the best time to service your heat pump before peak season.
How can we improve your comfort?
From a quick air conditioner repair to a complete new HVAC system, Adams & Sons handles heating and cooling for Wilmington homes with the care of a local, family-run company.
01AC Repair Wilmington NC
When your air conditioner stops keeping up with a Wilmington summer, we track down the real cause instead of patching the symptom. Our technicians repair central air conditioners of all types, from refrigerant leaks and failed capacitors to frozen coils and drain lines clogged by coastal humidity.
02AC Replacement Wilmington NC
If repairs no longer make sense, we'll help you choose a correctly sized, energy efficient air conditioning system for your home and install it with care. We install American Standard air conditioners and offer free replacement estimates for Wilmington homeowners.
03Heat Pump Wilmington NC
Heat pumps are a natural fit for Wilmington's mild winters and long cooling season, handling both heating and air conditioning in one system. We repair, maintain, replace and install heat pumps so your home stays comfortable in every season.
04Heating Repair Wilmington NC
Cold snaps on the Cape Fear coast are short, but they're no fun with a heating system that won't start. We diagnose and repair furnaces and heating systems, and help you plan a replacement when your equipment has reached the end of its life.
05Mitsubishi Ductless Wilmington NC
Mitsubishi ductless mini splits are an energy efficient way to add conditioned air to a sunroom, garage, bonus room or your entire home, with no ductwork required. We'll help you plan the right mini split installation for the space.
Heat, humidity and salt air are hard on outdoor equipment. Regular AC maintenance and heat pump tune-ups help your system run efficiently, catch small problems before they become breakdowns, and extend the life of your investment.

Built for the coast
An HVAC system on the North Carolina coast faces conditions a system inland never sees. A local heating and air company understands what your equipment is up against.
Salt carried inland from the ocean and the Cape Fear River corrodes outdoor coils and fins over time. Keeping your condenser or heat pump clean and inspected helps it last longer and run more efficiently.
Wilmington's humid summers mean your air conditioner is removing moisture as much as heat. A properly sized system with clear drain lines keeps your home comfortable — not cool and clammy.
Air conditioning in Wilmington can run from spring well into fall. That's why energy efficient HVAC equipment and regular AC tune-ups make a real difference on your utility bills.

Mitsubishi ductless mini-splits are energy efficient solutions that let you add conditioned air to your sunroom, garage or entire home — no ductwork required.
Learn more →American Standard · Spine Fin™ Coil
Masonboro and Monkey Junction homes sit in some of the harshest HVAC conditions in Wilmington — salt air corrodes outdoor coils fast. American Standard's Spine Fin™ coil is the coastal-grade answer we install to keep your system alive longer.
Built for coastal salt air
Thousands of aluminum spines wrap the refrigerant tubes, shedding salt spray instead of trapping it against the metal.
All-aluminum armor
No dissimilar metals to galvanically corrode — the spine-fin design resists the pitting and rust that attack standard copper-aluminum coils.
Self-cleaning airflow
The rounded spine geometry lets wind and rain flush debris and salt through the coil, so the surface stays clear and efficient.
